Teaching and learning using non-conventional methods has always been a style of teaching in Uganda. However, under this project teachers were equipped with the skill to be more innovative thus making the non conventional methods more interesting to the pupils. Through methods like poems, plays, drama, role plays, dance, debate, e.t.c teachers together with pupils were able to develop innovative teaching/learning materials. Using easily accessible material like manila papers, sisal and banana fiber, teachers and pupils created artistic and interesting learning materials which were very important in improving literacy levels in primary schools.
